Good Finds

Hunting for those uncommon pieces would have to be my number one choice of ways to spend my leisure time.
Here are a few of my latest good finds...

       Farm implements never looked better!

Hmm, what could I do with these?

I am picturing this fascinating copper bathtub in an old western movie...

Old tin and industrial lighting.... just the best combo!

Dwell

As I am cruising through Pinterest I keep finding myself
pinning a direction of style that is just simply refreshing.
Although, it is not a huge departure from my current loves.

                                               = lamp, stool and map
Layers of textures.

                                         Bright and white
Whites with light floors and touches of black.

                                                   grey linen
Natural fabrics.

                                       #linen
Gorgeous...

                                          .
Color used sparingly.

                                        LOVE the industrial look!
Raw metals.

                                        concrete & wood
Just enough bling.

                             windows

And my favorite element of this style...REPURPOSING!

Weekend with Rachel Ashwell at The Prairie

This past weekend I was honored to be at
"How it all Began" workshop held at
The Prairie in Round Top, Texas.
I can sum up those few days in one word - WOW...

Although the workshop focused on Rachel's  newest book release,
The World of Shabby Chic
we all gained insight of her journey far beyond any book pages.

I would like to share with you what I saw through my eyes...

Grace. Style. Beauty.

Nature. Color. Timeless

Elegance.Charm.Inviting

Talented.Soulful.Radiant

Details.Special.Comfort

Aqua.Whimsy.Quirky

Breezes.Country.Lace

Shiplap.White.Sparkle

Layers.Subtle.Gold

Farm.Faded.Relaxing

Our choices for Saturday day afternoon were:
                         a) Shopping in Round Top
                         b) Photo shoot for Rachel's
(That was a no brainer for me...)

A small group of us followed Rachel and Sarah around and tried our best to be flies on the wall.
(Not so easy for women who like to talk...)

Final photo of the bedding...
Rachel's attention to small details gave it the,
"I want to live there," look.

We moved out to the "wash" line. This took awhile to get the best shot, but again,
Rachel has a clever eye so it all pulls together.

My photo of what the final shot ended up as... Sarah will tweak hers to perfection.

Yes, even Rachel has a building full of her finds!
These treasures are waiting to make their way to L.A.

I was truly inspired by Rachel's journey.
She is a beautiful person inside and out.

Thank you Rachel for a weekend that I will not forget!

Until we meet again!
