What's new?

I imagine you all think I fell off the map or something. I seem to have neglected my blog for a few weeks. This is so not me. I am usually obsessive about what I will post next. Now, if I had a good reason for lallygagging about, I would let you know. I think I have just been cold. Literally. We are not use to a real winter down here in Texas. We usually get a nice sunny break in between cold fronts. We are spoiled. Texans are as tough as nails, but only if we want to be. We could get used to the cold, but next year it will probably be mild and where on earth would all those ear muffs, scarves and gloves be when we need them five (or ten) years from now when we have our next cold winter... During this cold spell I have been busy adding more layers to my booths in McKinney.

Don't you just love my burlap pillows from Molly?
I had to keep a NEST one for myself... it looks so fab in my living room.

I bought this huge birdcage from another dealer . The other dealers know what I like and bring me all sorts of goodies to buy for my booths. If you have a space in an antique mall I suggest having
"a look".
The other dealers will respect your taste and will not try to copy your uniqueness.
I stuffed the birdcage with a few of my finds from Estate sales, thrift stores, flea markets and everywhere I "hunt" for treasures. I am ALWAYS on the lookout for anything that I can sell in my booths. If that means driving two or three hours (sometimes more) in any direction, that is what I do.

My husband and I also repurpose found objects. This is fun and rewarding knowing we have given something a new life and meaning.

I found some new burlap ribbon with a white edging.
Carpe Diem - Seize the Day. I am often asked where do I find all of my stuff that I sell. That is a good question. I make sure I am available to Seize the Moment - Carpe Momento, at the drop of a hat. Whatever it takes. If I am traveling for any reason, I make sure and scout out the area for anything that would catch my interest.

This little wall sconce was in an upstairs booth at the same Antique Mall where I have my spaces. I bought it and have it for sale in my booth now!

Guess where I found my song birds? Well, they were not singing, yet...IKEA... They came with ugly paper and white dots for eyes. Most people passed right by them.

I decided they needed new eyes to see and wings to soar. They are all much happier now. And so am I.

Love the cubby hole piece in your booth. Is it for sale?

Thanks everyone. The wooden pidgeon roost with cubbies is not for sale. I just can't part with it. I have had a zillion people want to buy it. Maybe one day I will sell it, but probably not.
